Issues and Philosophy:
Limiting Tolls for Roads
Toll roads should be a last resort, not a first option.
Efficient,
equitable transportation is a basic and historic function of
government. The state should adequately fund the roads needed in a
growing area. When not, then local officials should consider tolls only
after thorough public hearings, for new roads where it's clear the
tolls are economically viable and will relieve traffic congestion for
the region as a whole, allowing the users who will benefit to pay.
